A Five hour event, 6-11pm, featuring premier up-and-coming "local" musicians.
Without Words: A Night Of Jazz And Funk is a Five hour concert with great music, a festive feel, and featuring premier up-and-coming "local" musicians. It also works with small local businesses in Stockton, especially on the Miracle Mile, to help promote the businessof the small community. Doors will open at 5pm and the show will start at 6 and will end sometime before 11pm.

Featuring Bernadette Conant: A beautiful young singer/songwriter from Monterey, California and originally from Stockton. She has an angelic voice that really must be heard in person to fully appreciate. She writes all her own music and her voice will blow you away. She is a consistent winner of songwriter competitions, even as recently as this January, already winning the Martinez Westcoast Songwriters competition. Don't miss this star on the rise. At only 20, her impressive repertoire of songs and bell like voice garner her more fans and admirers anywhere she goes.

Ship of Foolz: A group of young, talented Stocktonian musicians, who have become a local favorite. They emit sounds of Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, and a hint of Pop. Everywhere they go in Stockton they draw a crowd. Their line up consists of the young Carolyn Kendrick: Vocals/Violin, Jeff Anderson: Bass, Ralph Miranda: Guitar, Ryan Blodgett: Drums, Saye Dealy: Trumpet/Rhymes, Isaac Lòpez: Saxophone, Funky Fresh Lesh: Scratchin' n' mixin' on the turntables.

E-squared: A popular band in Sacramento, they have a very Alternative/Electronica sound. Also, they have won a Sacramento SAMMIE award for best Jazz group in 2011. Their line up includes Eric Warren-Vocals/Guitar/Bass, Eric Buell- Sampler/Synths, Eric Johnson- Trumpet, and Anthony Ordonez -Drums.

Jesi Naomi & The Trippers are a inverted version of ZuhG, the headlining band. What ZuhG isn't, Jesi Naomi & The Trippers, definitely are. They play a unique blend of Soul- Blues- Psychedelic. Most of it is more toned down and earthy in comparison to ZuhG. Their Members include: Jesi Naomi-Voice/ Piano / Guitar, Bryan Nichols-Guitar/Voice/Melodica/Ukulele/Djembe, Jr. Halliday-Bass/Guitar, Mike Ruiz-Drums/Djembe, and Bot-Sax. Additional musicians include: ZigZagg-djembe, Ron Relf-drums, and Jake Jarzemkoski-Ukulele/Bass.

Finally, the band, ZuhG.
A band who are definitely hard to describe. Perhaps, the easiest thing you could say is, they are Jazz influenced, Funk influenced (they are definitely funky), and extemporaneously gifted. Their sound takes you back to a grittier time in Jazz. One based on sounds coming from the horn and voices of Louie Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday. Yet, make no mistake about it, they are no mere cover band, nor a band desperately trying to cash in on the sounds established yesterday. Their sound is "their" sound. Their music is just as original as the image they created for themselves. They have also earned a prestigious SAMMIE award for best jazz/funk group. Their band members include: Bryan Nichols-Vocals/Guitar, Mike Ruiz-Drums, JR Halliday-Guitar/Vocals, Jake Jarzemkoski-Bass/ Vocals, Charleee-Mouth Situation, Bot- Saxophone, and Jesi Naomi-Vocals. Their influences include, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, and Bob Marley. They are on their 3rd album, produced from their own independently established record label, Sunflower Records, and they are just about to embark on their first U.S. tour. In fact, Stockton will be their last stop before they embark on this journey. It is our hope and belief that this event will leave you Without Words.
